Worker’s Rights

Nevadan’s deserve safe, secure, good paying jobs. When you put in your 8 hours, you should be able to go home and feel comfortable. Stable, secure communities will allow our small businesses to thrive. Americans are some of the most underpaid, overworked workers in the modern western world. With little to no benefits such as paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid maternity/paternity leave, healthcare, employment protection, or pensions.

  1. A FULL DAY’S WORK DESERVES A FULL DAY’S PAY

In the richest country in the world, no working Nevadan should have to worry whether or not they can afford their family, house, car, food, or clothing. And yet, almost 70% of Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck. Nevada workers deserve a living wage, adjusted every year to the Consumer Pricing Index.

  2. UNIONS

Our federal government has historically backed corporations over unions and small businesses. This Must Change. Democracy in the workplace is paramount to making sure that the working people of this country are being treated fairly, and not being taken advantage of by corporations.

We must repeal the Taft-Hartley Act, which limits the power of working people and unions to fight for better working conditions.

  3. ENDING FIRE ‘AT WILL’ EMPLOYMENT

No Nevadan should have to worry about their job security. Currently in Nevada, your employer can fire you at any time, for no reason. With almost 70% of Americans living paycheck-to-paycheck, this is unreasonable.

  4. FEDERAL JOBS GUARANTEE

By providing good jobs for anyone who wants to work, we can ensure that Nevadan’s won’t be taken advantage of by corporations. With well over 1 million layoffs in 2025, “New Deal” style legislation can provide good jobs and a workforce to improve our communities, and infrastructure.
