Homes for People, Not Profit
Individuals and corporations are making billions, buying our family homes, restricting the housing market, and causing rent spikes. Working Nevadans can not compete with corporations, millionaires, and billionaires in the housing market. We are in a cost of living crisis perpetuated in large part by landlords across the entire US. The price of a home, and subsequently rent, has nearly doubled in the Reno/Sparks area over the last 10 years, with the current median price at over half a million dollars. We need affordable housing for everyone in this state.
CAPPING CORPORATE OWNERSHIP
Houses are meant to be homes for the working people of Nevada, not investments for venture capitalists to make a quick buck.
PUBLIC HOUSING
By removing profit incentives from housing developments, we can ensure safe and affordable housing for low-income and at-risk families.
Expanding the National Affordable Housing Trust Fund, Section 8 allotment, and the Low Income Housing Tax Credit; we can provide essential assistance to working Nevadans at risk of homelessness.
